I had a RS125, loved it. 3 top end rebuilds mind!

I think the yam looks great from the side, but thats the same as any 125, nice from the side, silly from the front/rear.
It is a shame that its not a 2smoke, nothing like a 2stroke powerband

and id rather see one of these parked up than a cbr125

.......and how many are of those that are restricted, hehe.....

everyone i know is on L plates with these things producing 33bhp.......

Looks nice for what it is, but like any other sports 125 4t it should have been given a inline 4 engine with a 22,000rpm redline. lol

Ride magazine, I think it was, reviewed the new Derbi Mulhacen 125, and the idiots criticised it for being too slow I imagine if they reviewed a toy bike they'd complain that the pillion seat was too small. They do a big-engined Mulhacen if you want to go fast, and a wee one if you want to go fast but you're not allowed as your balls haven't dropped. It's not complicated...

I wouldn't have bought this one though. My taste in 125s was more... original. I had a Virago made of rust but I wish I'd got a trailie.

Because it inspires youngsters to buy proper bikes and not those wanky ****ty scooters they run amok on. Once they pass their test they buy bigger bikes and the cycle starts again.

Also, some people don't want to buy a 650 straight after DAS, they want to ride a 125 and gain useful road experience before they sit their test, which I think is a far better idea than putting a relative newbie on a bike capable of 130 mph after about 6 hours tuition. Of course, there will always be the butthole who thinks he's the best rider in the world just because he has a full licence, but road experience counts for a hell of a lot when you're learning to ride.

Motorcycling needs young blood to keep it going and I'm glad Yamaha are bringing this bike into the country, just like I'm glad Honda sell the CBR125R.

This Yamaha 125 has a Spanish made engine, and I think the whole bike might be being built over there too. Nothing unusual, a few manufacturers have bikes built in Europe now. Belgarda in Italy made the SZR660 and also the TZR125R amongst others, the CB500 and Dullvilles were built in Italy, Yamaha also own MBK in France, who build scooters like the BWs and they've also been using Spanish factories for stuff like the XTX125 and some other smaller bikes.

Saw it in the toliet rag (MCN). Looks pretty close to the R6 and about the same size too. Can't help thinking R6 size, weight and larger aerodynamic profile might be a struggle for a 125 though. Still 125's don't go fast anyway so it's all about style. If I was 17 again I'd want one. Don't see the point in a 'grown up' buying one though.

I think it's the bizzness.. If I was 17 again i'd find a way of buying one. Can't see how it can fail really. Always wondered why there wasn't any decent alternatives to the CBR125R / RS125..

I reckon it will sell sh1tloads..

So what you're saying is that you'd rather have a Yamaha, as opposed to a Honda. I had my suspicions.

I think it looks good...
Not as good as the Cagiva Mito, but not bad.

Oh man. I drove a Mito when I was 17 or 18, I was killing him on a old TZR 125, so we swapped.
I drove his Mito. I still killed him. But Jesus it was lots more fun.
