I agree any other team would have complained, but this is whats wrong with F1 at the moment, to much politic's

Stewards have been consistent they've let off teams before in the past for fuel irregularities. Schumacher and Coultard in 1995 both got their race results taken away and then had them re-instated.

Thing is if Lewis hadnt messed up that first corner, by being stupid and not wanting Alonso to pass him, he wouldnt have dropped as many places and might have got backup to fifth when his car slipped out of gear.

As for the tyre debacle, he should have over ruled his team and told them he was coming in for tyres. Martin Brundle said at the start of that race, tyre decision is down the driver.

He's made a couple of rookie mistakes, that hopefully he wont do again.

It does annoy me though that he gets more press for losing a world championship than JT did for winning WSB this year.

from what i read it wasnt him the fooked up it was his team.

shoulda brought him in earlier when he spun off with shot tyres, and bringing him in for 3 stops yesterday ultimately cos him the title.

The team messed up with the tyres, but he messed up Yesterday by shoving his car up the inside of Alosono and locking his brakes and running wide which put him back down to 8th... if he'd been a bit more sensible and slotted in behind Alonso in 4th he might have dropped back to 14th instead of 18th when he had his gearbox gremlins and that might have been enough to get him the championship.

I dont get the 3 stops thing either though, that ultimately knobbled him as well. They've made a few silly strategy mistakes this year.

unfortunatly we dont know what the team was doing with the tyre issue, could be they did not even have them out till the lap he was comming in, things we will never know.

Rookie mistakes, he is not completley methodical like shumi but next year he will be formiddable as long as his team dont mess up. Still an excelent result considering his first year, but also being backed by a good team helps unlike people going to the tail teams and never being heard from.

someone, some part of the FIA just didn't want him to win, on the news it said the gearbox hydraulic fault could have been remotely operated from the pits and why after this fault was he banging in fast lap times. its not just this race tho is it? theres been allegations about him for a while now like the tyres in the last one? F1 teams don't make silly errors like that, all sounds suss to me, TBH tho we've seen it in all sports.

[quote=TSM;1319722]err, it was his team that messed up, they kept him out on track with tires completley shreaded and no grip what so ever, they even admitted to it.

yes but who was driving the car-the driver is the one who ultimately has control over what he does/doesn't do-so if he felt he needed to have pitted he should.

He had a problem with his car, it showed up during qualifying that he might have a gearbox problem, the team took the car apart in parc ferme and found nothing wrong with it. So they already knew there might be a problem...

It slipped out of gear into neutral and then he couldnt get a gear again, if you watch the coverage you can seem him flicking the paddles to try and get a gear.

Then he did something and it got gears again, if you notice how slow he was through the pits, they obviously thought that something was wrong and were worried about the pit lane speed limiter not working.

Remember pit lane to car communication is banned. So how is anybody going to fiddle with the settings in the car, also did you hear Martin Brundle say that banging the car down the straight after the Senna S where its bumpy on the line that Hamilton was taking could have also upset the car.

He was banging in fast lap times because he wanted to win, he was fired up by being at the back of the grid and whatever problems he had in the car he was driving round them. Or the car had sorted itself out.

F1 cars are right on the limt of technology and engineering, sometimes they break, teams make mistakes, they are run by human beings.

If he only needed one point to win, why did McClaren let Alsono finish 3rd, thus losing me £10

I'm sorry to all the F1 fans on the forum but something is a miss here, over the past 3,4,5 years the racing has got worse and there is so many suspicious circumstances it makes it hard to watch.

I am amazed that Ferrari managed to engineer Raikonnen overtaking Massa without anyone batting an eyelid, despite team orders being banned.
