Nice one bud, have fun on it. Regardless of the restriction you'll love the handling, chassis and brakes are much better.

My logic:

My SV needs a new tyre and it needs a service very soon (still under warranty). This will equate to a min of ?250

In less than 12mths my SV will then need a major service and 2 tyres. Another ?300+ as it will be under warranty still.

I want a bike I know I will keep for over 2+ (poss 3+) years and so I've chosen a Gixer 600, which is a bike I love the looks of and, having ridden a few, I like the position and ride.

Instead of putting money into a bike that I now know I want to change, I'm putting it into the Gixer.

I know the Gixer is gonna be more expensive to look after but costs will be cut by having it serviced by my brother.

Getting the Gixer now is better than spending money on my SV and watching its p/x value reduce. I'm having my cake and eating it!

Anyone know of a good site for former SV riders who now own Gixers?

Enjoy your bike it looks a cracker , have ridden older gixers SRAD and a k5 track bike both great to ride
missed apex by 5 ft but thats not the bikes fault it was only my 2nd track day

I tend to buy my oil etc on-line as trips to bike shops can be very expensive , i was looking at a fazer 1000 last time I was buying a sump crush washer ...

Cheers Steveg

www.gixerjunkies.net is the best one I've found.
