I have a small issue. I have a 2 man tent but no idea how to attach said tent to my bike. I have no panniers and certainly can't afford to buy anything. Suggestions? It won't fit in a bag.

Ideally you want a tailpack to put weekend gear in and then bungee the tent to that.. Maybe you could borrow one or look on ebay for a cheap one, sure you could get a used one for under a tenner..

Tailpack is the way forward, if only to provide something to strap your tent to. Phill has two, maybe he can lend you one?
