Well mine puts out about 70 from like 3K rpm to limiter, so yours will be 65-70 at least. Gixxer is 55FT-LB and that's peak (not straight like the V2's, very peaky) way up @ about 10K RPM.

Though it doesnt really have much more power it wil feel like it does because it is all at the top end, not like the V2's which pull at any revs.

well done you, sounds like a bargain. There's always somewhere cheaper, if you kept on looking you'd never end up buying.

Apparently the K5's are the most powerful ones. 5BHP more...
I've not watched the videos (at work - can do but on the sly ) but 125hp is LOW at the wheel for a 750. Not sure where the info about the K5s being more powerful comes from - though I would say there is minimal difference, if any between K4-K8. The figure bandied about at the crank is circa 150hp, but very few people use the crank number so haven't seen it mentioned much.
But given a SS600 tends to have similar/a tad over the hp of the SV1000, you should be looking at +25hp moving to the 750 really.

Not sure of the torque but I'm sure it can be found somewhere...

Lol I hope you've actually ridden a 750, you're making it sound like a SS600!

IMO it's pretty good low down, but I only have the 650 to compare to. My recent test of a K7 650 showed that on low down torque the SV would have it's ass handed to it on a plate by a 750, given the 600s I tested it with gave it a beating

Heh, Dont believe the bloody stupid numbers MCN, the manufacturer and the Mags use. An average ss600 at the wheel is about 105BHP. SV1000 is about 105-115BHP. Sports 1000 V-twin (RSV, SP's, TLR...) 130-135BHP. 750 like said 125BHP and the 1000IL4 about 160-165BHP all at the wheel.

Dont confuse the SV650 with a 1000! A 1000 feels like the SV does at the peak power at only 5000 rpm! Rip your arms off in comparison.

I'm not reading mags lol, I'm reading people's dyno sheets! Actually, to be fair, I have seen a couple of 125hp runs on checking, but it is on the low side (standard bike) - e.g. one K8 with 100 miles on the clock was dyno'd at 134hp. Of course we have such differences between dynos and between dyno runs that it could all be down to that....but as an absolute minimum expect 125hp at the wheel.

Most dyno's I've seen put the 600s at 105-110hp at the wheel so again you're at the bottom end and the SV1000 has been put about as being similar to the 600s for ages now. Where do you get these v-twin biased dyno figures

Well mine is 115 stock... Going to get it done again now I have done some changes see the difference. I asked about SS600 and the fella pointed at one a K7 Gixxer track bike pulled up its runs and it was doing 105BHP... Had a slip on. He said with a PCII and slip on he can get 110BHP ish out of one.

He showed mine (other falco's) with PCIII and slipons pushing 125BHP.

Still tbh these are all just numbers. It all boils down to what feels nice/fast/manic/torquey etc etc. If you like it you ride it.

i used to run a cbr600fw 1998 and that moved up to an idicated 150 pretty rapid, theres nothing wrong with the power of the il4 infact the sound of one on full chat makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, its different thats all, i love the v twin sound but ive been riding them now for 4 years and just fancy a change.
