'Sunny Sunday' riders just off for a blast after the GP most likely, unfortunately it is there time of year and apparently they are all as talented as Mr Rossi too.
I agree with you Gr33k, I too do not agree with speeding in small towns/villages as it does give people more reason to dislike us bikers. I also never see the point of people in a rush to overtake to only continue in the queue one or two vehicles up, never heard of forward planning. |

Additionally people living with a race track outside their front door sometimes would like to be able to get in/out their drives without risking life/limb

![]() I kinda get what you say Ed. But for me, 30s is 30s and 40s is 40s. |

Putting the safety issues aside, I just don't want to pick up points for the sake of doing a few mph over a 30 or 40 limit when there's probably little or no enjoyment to be had anyway. I just put up with the tedium until I can get out on the open road. If I get points out there for having fun, then I'll accept it.

Loads of the same around here, guys on sportsbikes who'll go arseholing past you in the 30's and then corner at snails pace on proper roads. Very annoying and gives us all a bad name.
Overtaking in 30s is fine IMO, so long as you're overtaking something doing less, busses, tractors etc but it's got to be to make "safe progress" The worst drivers IMO are the ones who'll do 45-50ish everywhere regardless of conditions.

I'll always tend to stay with in limits for 30/40s in little towns and villages.
As already said its just the courteous thing to do and there's no need to hoon it around and start overtaking with no need, causing more risk to you and others. I find it can be nice to just have a quick breather on them too, inbetween getting back onto the fun bits. |

Overtaking,be it in a built up area, open lanes or dual carriageways is the perogative of the rider as is the consequences if caught speeding,or commiting some other offence in either situation. The max speed limit on a single carriageway is 60mph but when I go out I often get passed by bikes doing 80-90 even over 100mph and if I have seen them in my mirrors I move over and let them pass. I must admit that I often pass slower vehicles in 30mph limits but only speed up to pass them and yes I may only gain 3 or 4 car lengths but that can mean the road is clear for me when I exit the speed restriction----------my forward planning, making safe progress.
