You *think* they can't. But they obviously can.

Without proof, its can be seen as defamation of character. Which, it turns out, is eminently suable over.

You call someone a paedophile and you don't have proof that they are, then that's defamatory and likely to cause that person to seek retribution.

It was the same in the case above. He called someone (actually rightly) a thief, but couldn't prove it and was sued.

Hope you get your insurance troubles sorted out.

Just got off the phone to them. Very good for bikes, especially if you've done IAM. Don't bother with their car quotes though.

I've just been on the phone to Express Insurance to renew my insurance for next year. I passed my restricted test last year and brought my SV650 S K7 brand new as well last year. My first years insurance was £750 TPFT with no added bits and pieces which at the time wasn't bad.

I got my renewal reminder through and it said £680 which I was quite disappointed about, I was hoping for something around the £500 mark. So after answering all the questions and adjusting what needed to be adjusting he managed to get it down to £385. With the addition of breakdown cover reduced from £50 to £20 it come to £405 and just for the icing on the cake he rounded it down to £400.

Overall you could say for a 19 year old with 2 years NCD and no convictions/accidents I am over the moon with the huge price drop. Roll on next year when I'll hopefully go fully comp.

Express were 150 more expensive than my cheapest quote, I just called them

According to my certificate I passed on the 07/11/2007. I'm counting down the days 07/11/2009 when I finally get to abuse the SV rather then tickle it.

There were pretty strict restrictions on the free insurance offer when I was buying mine, so if that was still the deal when he bought his, he's probably not eligible for it (think it was 21+)

Not having FC though is a tough choice, but is it a choice if they're wanting a grand and a half or more?

Seggons you passed a day after I did

I got fully comp last year, 1150 quid with 650 excess. Crashed twice, probably cat D twice if it was an insurance job, fixed it myself both times. TPFT for me from now on
