Sounds like you had a good day! Wish I could have made it, was standing over a BBQ cooking for my wife's friends...(with a beer though!)

Home safe, Ed sorry mate didn't see you when I had turned round, had just left the fuel stop not 400 yds down the road to he home, if only you'd known!

Thanks everyone for a great day, c.400 miles, my ar$e hurts, but back safe & dinner was ready for me within 5 mins of getting back!!
what a diamond she is......

Mike, thanks for the route, think that the views round there are breathtaking will go back for sure.
Claire, thanks for suggesting the trip.

Had a great day out, shame they have to come to an end, can't wait until son has finished his 2 years restricted so I can take the bloody washers out the curvy, but for a 9 year old restricted bike i don't think the old girl did to bad, she kept out of the hedges anyway.

Hope to see you all again soon,
Old Git.

I thought my can was getting very loud. My ears are ringing after today's ride, and I had plugs in. So I looked at the can - remember it's an under seat thingy - and the bolt which holds it to the subframe has disappeared. Sheared off I imagine. So the can is totally unsupported, and it's only holding on from the fixing where it attaches to the pipe, which has twisted under the weight and the movement, and it's leaking. So no wonder it's making such a racket. It had a 6K service this week and they didn't mention anything. I wonder what else they missed.

So I'm sorry Claire and Carlos, you were each behind me a lot of the way - sorry if you were deafened.

Edit - Mke called a while back, it was my fault - he had intended that we pull into the car park at Clwedog but I took it as a 'ride on'. And when I saw Old Git, everyone was at the fuel station just a few hundred yards down the road. Damn. Ho hum....

Still had a fantastic day

yo yo yo.... me is back home after a slight detour

the clock is saying 372miles. and my @rse is fine(all hail the gel seat).

Knees are giving me some grief tho.

Massive thanks to mike for the route and the lead all day. You really do put plenty of effort in to these rides mate and it really is noticed. Thanks a lot.

Thanks also to our two TEC'S:

1. Claire, and lets face it i doubt the ride would ever have happened without your efforts with the polls and planning so thanks for that.

2. Carlos.... well done for offering to take over the tec for the second half... and i think you also deserve a big well done for picking the bike up and completing a 300mile ride out after an off on route. Nice one mate!

And thanks to the rest of you for making the day as FANTASTIC as it was. A few new experiences for me today..... but not sure if the highlight was riding the elan valley or having lilly trying to get her "leg over"

Dave

Yeah mate there was a mix up with the marking. We turned left onto the A4212 at the end of Bala high street, then right onto the B4501 at Frongoch. Then took the B5105 from Cerrigydrudion to Ruthin. (so same ending as last ride-out)

Thanks for the kudos guys . Yesterdays route is one I have had in my back pocket for a while. I rode a lot of it with my son a while back, but was good to ride it again with added roads which made it better IMHO.
It was a good paced ride and everyone rode pretty sensibly from what I saw so all good. The highlight of the day for me was chasing those three bikes from Newtown (R1, GSXR-1000 and Trumpet), shouting at them to get out my way on the twisties and being left on the straights!
