+1 for the spannerman appreciation society.

took the bike to him this week and got a shedload of work done for a decent price.

him and bill also picked up on another couple of bits that will need sorted in due course. my old mechanic would not have picked up on that stuff and he never volunteered information about the work that he had done = a new regular customer for spannerman & co!

they fitted a new shock and springs to the bike and it feels better than ever

Good morning all.

Good to hear your bike feels a touch better emcf. I'm pleased that you didn't find the price too 'shocking' (pun intentional)

Another recommendation here for Bill & Stewart. Totally politically incorrect and avid bird watchers (avian ofc, what else?). Had a good laugh down there whilst they touched my bike in all its special places. Don't pass up the bacon cheeseburgers if you go down there either - theyre bloody good!

I went in for a preMOT checkup and general peace of mind service on the new bike and they were more than happy to answer all my questions whilst they were tinkering away. Bike is now feeling far better than before, Im more confident to tinker with the suspension settings and also carried away a few new tips & tricks on bike setup.

+1 all round for the lads, +5 for the dodgy taches - cheers lads!

Right! Well I was going to start a new thread with something along the lines of....

"SPANNERMAN, YOUR A LEG END"

but then thought it might all go to Stewart's head and Bill would of just laughed and told Stewart that he is the Legend not him, ha!

So I thought I would go with this option and say...

"IF YOU DON'T USE STEWART & BILL (SPANNERMAN) YOUR AN IDIOT!"

I prefer that slogan! Might put that in my signature actually.

So my day in the hands of Stewart and Bill.

First off travelling from Southend On Sea qualifies me as the longest distance traveled award to their Garage. The pair of them are great! The banter is excellent and you actually learn stuff as you go along too which no where else you would (obv only if you stay for the duration of your service/work) every bolt that was removed was re-greased and the work was carried out in FULL. No cutting corners to save 5mins it was done properly.

So I recommend the pair of them to everyone!! Even if you think they are a little further than you current garage or a main dealer that charge too much then consider going to them!! OR just call for a quote at least.

PLUS there is a Travelodge less than 30secs walk from their garage so you could stay the evening (book 21 days in advance and you could get a room for £19 )

And last of all DO NOT REFUSE THE BACON CHESSEBURGER LUNCH!!! ITS MIND BLOWING!

P.S. Stewart has coffee with 3 sweeteners and Bill has posh tea bags with 2 sugars! Might get you some brownie points but don't count on it. lol.

** Set of Avon Storms and some upgraded fork springs for me next, hopefully within the month. **

Just wanted to add my little note of appreciation for Spannerman and co!

After Suzuki managed to royally mess up my bike (spark plugs finger tight, not putting new gaskets in engine), my bike has the love it deserved and now runs like a dream!

They even drilled out my baffle from my Yoshimura, so now I am wasting fuel making it pop and bang all the way to work!

The bike really does feel like new (in fact better than I have ever had it) and they have now become the only place I will go for any bike work.

Great work guys!

Good afternoon all.

It's good to hear you're both happy Cbay & SOB, & that you liked the grub provided, they may be morons at our local burger van, but the food makes up for it! Maybe we'll make it another special offer....Free cholesterol with every full service.

Now that cbay has thrown down the gauntlet, let's see if we can reel an orger in from further than Saafend.

Cheers.
