The bike hadnt been out for 12 days and when i went to start it yesterday the battery was drained so i assumed it must be the alarm slowly draining it and decided to get a new battery and remove the alarm. Fine.
All was good on the way up to Yorkshire, stopped to refuel and started fine. Stopped for a break and started fine again. Next time i stopped for fuel (after 250ish miles) went to start it and dead as a flaming do-do!!!

If it was the alarm draining the battery then it shouldnt have failed the second time. I know the alternator is fine cos i checked the voltages when i replaced the reg/rec. My optimiser has a light that should come on if the battery is knackered but it doesnt so i assume the battery is fine.

TBH i dont know WTF to think!!! Any ideas anyone???
Wish I could help you but it sounds exactly the same as mine.
Has been working fine, starting everytime on the button till I stopped for fuel.
Tried to start it and nothing, not even the dash lit up.
My battery was showing 12 volts but no amps

I've changed the battery and fingers crossed.

Hi Messie,

I think the rideout will be on the Sunday, and it'd be great if you joined us!

Not sure what the route is yet, but i think it'll be Red Lodge to Sheringham as MZ suggested.

Maybe someone from over that way could suggest the best roads.....please!!!

Red Lodge start is good for me. I don't know roads all the way up to Sheringham but some bits inland from Southwold are fun

Did you get your bike recovered OK, kj ?
I'm only 12 miles from Helmsley if it's still up here.
