Thank you every one, that is really helpful. Right now he is fast asleep and in his loving mood, so I have been presented with a belly for rubbing and a chin for tickling. I will have a chat with Carol in a mo and go from there, also we have a Pets at Home store just down the road with a resident vet.

Just one question, can I still use the loo method if I have toilet blocks in place?!

Bath or large bucket. Good hold of the scruff. 1 person to hold the cat, 1 person to wash it. The cat will hate it. The cat will hate you. The cat will come back when it's hungry and stopped shagging the local cat population, scrapping over territory and getting filthy again. Don't make the water too hot.

Well I did it and it was easy, he even purred and cuddled afterwards.



All it took was lifting him into the bath, having first appealed to his tummy with his favourite kitty crack treats. Once in the bath I washed him down with some rather exclusive Kitty shampoo purchased from the Vet. The vet said it was just a case of being quiet, kind and gentle and wearing body armour!

The other cat, Jasper, is some what confused and is walking around me the way alter boys walk around priests!

Once out of the bath, Maccie cuddled up for ten minutes while I towel dried him and then I gave him another kitty crack treat. In the bath experience, all I got was one small scratch when he tried to climb out of the bath before washing the soap off.

He is also due his front line again, which will be given to him when he has dried off and forgiven me the indignity of making him smell nice and making his coat ginger again.

pets at home do a bottle with a pink substance you can rub onto your cat with no need to rinse. Just rub dry with towel. Saw it yesterday, when looking for smelly dog deodorant!
