No better feeling than giving it to some of the big boys! Tremendous job with the bike for sure. I've seen nothing else like it & I guess that's the point! Well done mate, hopefully many more of those days to come.

Thanks mate, I had tweaked the fairing position to point the nose down more and adjusted the seat to point up more and that seems to have finished the look off just right. Oh and the black wheels too!

Here's a short vid! (Sorry for the volume issue, Gopro broken????)

Really nice vid, good camera position. Have you ever tried the Pani?

If not, the two most distinctive things about it (other than the incredible sound assault) is the brakes, which are just phenomenal, and the traction/acceleration. Now, this guy was braking WAY before he needed to, especially on this bike which comes with Supercorsa's stock.

Funny how some buy the bike and don't seem to appreciate its strength's. No matter, I would have loved to have been in your shoes there

So having only managed to book in for the evening sessions at Cadwell, the bike and I took a nice saunter down to the track on a gorgeous monday afternoon.

Here's a tip for you all, DON'T book evening sessions in any other month than June!!

We were told that we should get three 20 minute sessions in before dark. I had my doubts as my groups was only due on track about 6pm.

Anyway as it happens all sessions finished early due to red flags and the shop shut early after a particularly nasty highside (I guess) and they kept the poor sod on track on his back whilst an Ambulance arrived. (I think they had already dispatched an ambulance to A&E with the rider from the previous session, hence the wait)

So all in all it was a mixture of emotions, good to have finally got the SV round Cadwell but shame it was for such a little time.

To be honest I was riding poor anyway, frustrations of the slower traffic (My fault for being a coward and booking Novice/Inters) and trying to get a good time in, was a recipe for disaster!

So a lot learnt, heading back there early October so I hope there is still a ray of sunshine left by then.

Here is a cut down video of the 2nd session, note the rider layed out on track in the final moments of the video! Hope he's ok and get well soon:

The info at the bottom is from a combination of an Android App on my phone and a Bluetooth GPS receiver. You can use the phone's own GPS but the external receiver is more accurate. That gives you laptime info on your phone.

The app is called "RaceChrono" the receiver is this: GPS

Here comes the science bit, to get the video overlay, another program is used on the laptop and converts the recorded file from the app into an AVI video file, ready to be overlayed on the main video footage.
(The program is called RaceChrono2AVI)

Fellow Orger M65 told me all about it, pretty decent accuracy apparently because he ran it on a trackday with transponders and was only 0.1 of a second out.

Very nice to meet you Redmist.

Good write up! Shame about the evening being cut short as the weather was great! Hope the rider is OK that fell off in your session.

I'm very impressed with your video and lap timer set up. I really could do with one of them myself. Is it hard and expensive to set up a lap timer (Would not be using a camera)

What date is it you are back at Cadwell?

All the best mate

Likewise was great to meet and I'm very interested in the Darley Moor racing! I'll be back at Cadwell on October 7th.

Cheers mate, I only had to buy the GPS receiver, I bought one that is advertised as motorsport compatible, it cost £60 (See my post above) but you can get others cheaper like M65 bought (Speak to him for full specs). I have mine stuck on the top yoke, its about the size of a matchbox.

I already had the phone (A HTC Desire) so for £60 cheap as chips!

What phone do you have?

Setup is non existent, simply turn on your phone's bluetooth, switch on the GPS receiver and run the RaceChrono app. It will connect to the receiver when you press "START" and begin recording the session when the GPS finds the satelites.

Then, the app will either auto-detect the track from its library and will give you lap times and split points. Or if you go somewhere not in the library you can create your own track once you've been around the track once.
