SV oil level, below the MIN and its by, by engine. above the MAX and its dodgy gear changing. anything between the MIN and MAX is ok. always check the oil level every time you take the bike out for a ride, i have seen faaaarrrr too many SV being killed due to low oil level. |

What about when to check the oil? Stone cold or just after a ride, or after a 5min warm up?

If you look at the level just after a ride some of the oil will be up in the heads. Check it before a ride, as Bibs mentions above, so that it has had time to drain down and give you a good reading.
