Re: Where to sell a K3 SV1000N
I'll be looking for sensible offers over £2k. Need to see how well she cleans up as to how much over £2k I can get.
Tricky one as working Nakeds are pretty rare these days yet it's an imperfect 15 year old bike with >50k on it ...

Re: Where to sell a K3 SV1000N
Not quite sure what to ask for it. Yes it's old and done a few miles but there are virtually no naked thous for sale these days and lots of posts for people asking how to nakedify an S.
Guess I'll clean her up, a few pictures in the sunshine and keep adjusting the price until someone bites.

Re: Where to sell a K3 SV1000N
I think the problem isn't that it's not worth that price, it's just when you get to a certain price / value, the options and possibilities with other bikes opens up a lot. So you need someone who really wants your bike. Same goes for really good condition 650s. Once they go over £2000 in value there's a whole world of other bikes available too. A lot of people go for an SV as you get a lot of bike, often for under £1500.
The thousand is slightly different in that it's rarer as you say. But it does need the right person who really wants it to come along. That might just take time. |

+ not naked, but...
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...8479931847584/ edit : in case you can't see it (might have to be a member of the for sale group) it's a faired 2005 SV1000 with lots of bling, £3300. Last edited by Adam Ef; 04-03-19 at 08:04 AM. |

Re: Where to sell a K3 SV1000N
Hi Mark_h
Whilst I wish you well, I'm with Adam Ef on this one, the bike is only worth what someone will pay for it, and I'm far from convinced there is any rarity premium for 15 year old mainstream bikes. You might just find someone who wants exactly your bike and is will pay you over £2000 for the privilege of buying it, but I'd wonder why he/she would not buy this 2008 model first (at £1700 and open to offers - I suspect a pocket full of £1400 in folding money would buy it without too many questions): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-sv...rk:12:razz:f:0 Adam Ef is right: there is a big market for bikes under £1500, and plenty of SVs under that level. I hope I am wrong, but I just can't see a high mileage SV1000 that needs cleaning up making over £2000 - but good fortune with the sale. Last edited by Othen; 04-03-19 at 08:47 AM. |

Re: Where to sell a K3 SV1000N
I think I'd put it on ebay just to get an idea of what the market is doing and see if there's any interest. You could put a reserve on it if you don't want to end up giving it away. I have been browsing bikes on ebay for the last few months and I get the impression that people are being cautious with their money (brexit maybe?). I saw an immaculate 1972 Yamaha YR5 (350cc pre RD, two stroke), it only had one bid in 5 days and sold for £2500 (that's a great price - for the buyer!). An immaculately renovated Honda CD175 for £2000, no bids.

Occasionally I monitor Suzuki B120 prices on eBay (only because I have one) and have seen the same few bikes for sale this last 6 months (admittedly at silly prices - people asking £1300 for tatty bikes just because they are 40 years old). |
