Stu - ai, yellow curvey indeed. Were you there too then?

Arcdef - how about meeting somewhere near guildford and doing a run down to the coast?

But at least we can spell Or do WVAM specialise in greenlaning?

To be honest WVAM and TVAM do the same job. really comes down to which one has the right "vibe" for you and whether the second Sunday of the month (WVAM) or third Sunday of the month (TVAM) is more convenient for you.

Also depends if you want to be shown routes round the crowded A3 with the A25 being seen as rural (WVAM) or the gloriously empty and sweeping madgesty of the Hampshire and South Oxfordshire area often elegently thrashed around by TVAM.

OK one factual correction before I lay into you

WVAM is first Sunday of the month.

In fact it's not even worth going there, I admit the A3 is so crowded (kinda good to learn how to ride crowded roads anyway) but the M3 is empty

I would say the other difference is an allocated observer throughout your training/spelling lessons with TVAM compared with an abundance of talented observers in WVAM.

OK, so I couldn't help myself

Yea, you're right. There are only 180 highly motivated talented observers in TVAM land. You get a 1:1 observer to coach and guide you lovingly through your advanced riding career then on the 3rd Sunday you get randomly allocated to one of the 179 other observers ensuring you get a good cross-section of advice while getting the consistency of a specific observer in between the monthly sessions.

At the end of the day pretty much any training is better than no training. IAM does not fit for everyone and which group you join comes down to convenience and personal choice. However I have it on good authority that all the WVAM lot smell and they make new-comers stand in the middle of the hall and sing a song on their first day. Where as at TVAM we have pit-girls who come over and feed peeled grapes to new-comers while someone else gives your bike a good service, clean and upgrades any sub-optimal components all free of charge of course.*

* Note most of the last para is made up apart from the WVAM folks being a bit whiffy.

Aah! from your posts before I genuinely thought the mentor system carried through to the monthly runs. OK then the set up is exactly the same as WVAM in theory.

As to in practice

Of course that's what we do! We want to be sure that new associates are committed to the cause of advanced riding!

Enough with the handbags ladies!

Stu - yeah be good to say hello next time! I'll try to keep an eye out for you. Have you got a pic of the bike so I can try to recognise it?! The car park was chocca last time, can hardly tell one bike from another!
