Might sounds like I am inciting, but £15,000,000 to the UK finances is the same as you sending a letter second class rather then first class.

If you are going to count lives in society by the amount they cost the state, then you would be better off re-introducing the death penalty. They are far more expensive to maintain then benefit scroungers.

It's just a daft premise for a film. Take a look at the numerous countries where the state has failed to maintain control and just how crap life is for people there.

That's only the cost saving. Add up the money you make on re-selling the houses to people, selling the body parts from the 'donors' and the money you've made from selling the weapons. Soon adds up year on year!

Clean up should be fairly easy as you could say that all bodies from the purge are considered to be donors for organs, body parts etc (if they aren't entirely full of holes).

You,would only save 15mil in the short term because you've also taken 15mil of spending out of the economy over the next year, plus all the spending that's resulted from it so a lot more people are now out of work.

Spank, That does highlight one of the interesting problems with capitalism now just starting to come through. Namely that having a super rich effectively takes money out of the economy, as they cannot spend it fast enough. I am talking about the 0.1%.

More cost-effective to guarantee everyone 5 years of quality retirement. No work, good health cover, all the support you could want or need. To be taken at any time over 55 years of age. Once over your 5 years you get shipped off to an old folks retirement village. Unfortunately this village has no internet or telephones but lots of lovely country walks and comfy chairs. In reality the old folk village is actually a meat rendering plant converting folk into compost, fuel and veggie sausages.

Old folk will cost more than pretty much any other element of society and in most cases no longer contribute much in tax or spend. Also fixes the problem of providing food for veggies.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Depends how much of it they have, some is ok because the money doesn't sit idle (unless its in a mattress) the banks move it about and invest it. Of course this creates its own problems if there's too much money being loaned compared to really being in the system.
