If it's cold in sunny Wales at the mo,I def go with the Carb icing theory.HTH.

Get some Silkolene PRO FST, read the instructions on the back and put the correct amount in the fuel tank. It works a treat for my curvy in winter, and it works great for a year round abused 2001 R1 too. Give it a go it won't do any harm, if the blade (sorry don't know what year) runs well with it, problem solved.

I keep one of those 250ml soft drinks bottles of PRO FST under the seat.
