Hi Guys,

I am now the owner of that SV and the seller (very nice guy called Stu) explained what he had to do to fit the SV1000 swingarm. From what I understand he had to cut a section of the swingarm out because the exhaust and shock positioning is different. See the pic.

So basically it's not a simple bolt on. My SV is now wearing a 190 rear, but I have to say I think I'll go down to a 180 for hopefully improved handling.

Sweet mate, you say you're looking for improved handling? Does it feel heavy on the rear?

seems alot of hastle really for cosmetic reasons that will screw up the handling.

I would agree with Kwak - It does seem like alot effort for what is only really a cosmetic gain (Sorry Stu). I've ridden a fair few bikes including an standard SV650 and an SV1000 and to be honest this one actually handles great (but it does have a gixxer rear shock and a hayabusa front end). I suspect though it would feel sharper in the turns with a smaller rear tyre.

The previous owner has filled me in on the details, it's ALOT of work!! Moving the shock mount on the swingarm etc. Too much hassle for my liking!!!
