Jeez, the way people go on these days amazes me !! It's not that long ago that the average mileage for a bike was about 10k per year - before too many people decided to buy a bike as a summer 'toy' & screw up the averages for the rest of us !!

The SV Thou engine is well proven lump (in fact Suzuki just don't produce 'bad' engines) so mileage shouldn't be a problem if you can verify the Full Service History has been done correctly & at (approx) the correct intervals.

I wasn't saying the millage was a bad thing, I was just saying Its a way of getting them to knock a couple of hundred off it to get a good discount, I did this with I did with my car and is why I got an almost excelent condition 3yr old car for the price of a 8 year old one with average millage

the bike is in a good condition, has just been valeted. but that may mean that its was in a **** state already. who knows. so i'm gonna check it out on saturday.

No. It is exactly what my post said... with a millage like that, try and get some goodies or money off as the millage lowers the value and I wouldn't pay that much, no where on it does it say the millage is a bad thing. And with the car, thats exactly wht I got a 3 year old car for the price of an 8 yr old one.

I agree with you OYB.

Everyone is entiltied to an opinion about mileage on bikes cars, boats planes whatever it may be. SOme see it as a good thing others dont. The guy wanted some advice on whether the bike was a good deal. Thats exacltey what he is getting.

I love 'high mileage' bikes.

There's a fantastic opportunity for everyone to buy what is fundamentally a very very good bike with loads of miles left in it for extremely cheap money. I say we should hound the bike trade to bring their definition of high mileage down to about 3K per annum, cos that'll bring used bike prices down even further.
