That is the point, you can see them looking your way at least

Yes, but more information is helpful, if a driver is looking to turn right onto a main road and he's looking the other way at the traffic, I would be very very cautious. If he's looking back and forth and looks like he is looking at me waiting to come past, I will be cautious of course but it is a signal to me. There's always going to be risk going past him - you can't completely remove it - but I'd rather take note of as many signals as I can. Body language is quite expressive, even from the inside of a car!

I agree that it makes it harder to tell where the driver is looking. I tend to slow down, move further out, etc. when I see a car with it that could pull out. One of my mates has the darkest tint you can legally have on his car and it's just like being in a normal car from the inside and from the outside, you can still see where he's looking unless it's night. Makes me wonder what proportion of the problem ones are illegal.

PMSL at gettin2dizzy's comment.

Indeed it is there's no denying that. But seeing a persons head moving to side to side as if they're looking doesn't mean that they have seen you. I've had that where the person has then pulled out on me because they hadn't seen me... I was in my car at the time!!!

And is that such a bad thing?

I tend to approach junctions with cars waiting to pull out with the assumption that the person behind the wheel is a complete cretin and could/will pull out at any moment.

I think tinted windows are dangerous and should be banned. Now I'm just stirring.

In low lightlevels they could be dangerous and at night they are just silly. I mean that woman's let 13.5% light through which is way less than my dark tint visor. And no one here would wear a dark tint visor at night. In the day, meh.

You stirring? how unusual Dan

I'm not denying that in low light levels they can be dangerous but then that goes for any driver doesn't it?

Umm, no. But tintedwindows are not all that removeable so if you have them on chances are you will have issues with vision at night. Solution, make 'em illegal! Oh, they are.

It's the same with visors though, although visors are easily removeable/changeable so that law is just stupid.

I've got tints on my Wagon R Light smoke in the front & limo black in the back. At night it does make it slightly harder to see at juctions & I always wind the windows down at roundabouts - just in case.
As for bling...... I think so, plus people cant see my ugly mug
