Mine did actually fail due to not having a baffle fitted. Took my bike to local dealer and heard one of the blokes in the workshop say that. The tester looked confused as there is a BSAEU standard thingy band on the exhaust. he told me he had to fail it as it was too loud. Was going to make a fuss and ask if he had a soundproof room to test the noise but couldn't be bothered getting anymore hassle.

I will not be going back there next year though.

When I bought my Twin Renes, they didn't come with baffles, and I contacted Renegade directly to buy some baffles for them. (They just asked for the diameter of the whole, and the style of the can). They were proper British Standard ones and did the job perfectly (although did need to drill a bolt hole for it).

(Not that I use them either, but I will do in a year or so when it's due its first MOT)

Although, since then George (the owner) has moved his company to Portugal under a different name.
From what I gather, if you can get hold of the company, he will still do aftersales service for Renegade cans, but I don't know the number. Hopefully someone else will be along with it shortly. Worth a try!

Nice to see you took our advice about avoiding that SV regarding its history etc mate. Hope it just is safe for your sake.

TBH I got it checked over by two independent bike shops, both said it was ok bar minor things like the small plate and no baffles, and for the price I think I did alright. I did listen and also took the advice of others into concideration as-well. I've got a new front end planned for it aswell and other things like carbon-fibre rear hugger just want to get it a bit quieter atm. It's going to be used everyday and I've already got it booked in for a service next weekend including valve clearance check at the bike shop next door to where I work (one of the garages who looked it over). I'm happy with it, and although people may not like the fact that I brought it I did take peoples advice into concideration as-well as having expert opinions.
Cheers

Personally I would have asked for the bike to be completely stripped and search, you can miss a lot by just walking around a poking things with your fingers like most dealers do!

Oh well...

Yes those bafffle work and as long as the baffles have a BS or EU stamp on them then they are road legal (ish).
