HT=High Tension leads

Plug Caps, thick wires from the coils.

Is it running properly yet?

It does sound to me like you haven't connected one of them properly.

Also when you say the spyglass is half black what are you on about? Is that with the bike level?

Tipping the bike on it's side won't get that much fuel sloshing about because the fuel tap needs vacuum to open. Also the excess fuel is more likely to go out of the drain than into the engine.

Check the oil with the bike upright as normal to rule that out, oil looking black is perfectly normal.

I would put on full choke, dont statr the engine give it a couple of twists of the throttle, to fill the carbs with a bit of fuel, the put on half choke and start the engine, that should get it to life.
OK fuel system 101....

There's a vacuum tap on the tank that needs manifold vacuum to open, then that feeds a vacuum operated pump which gives low pressure fuel supply to the carbs float bowls.

Then the carb controls the atomisation of fuel, the choke isn't exactly a choke, it's an enriching plunger, opens up another passageway to give it a lot more fuel and a bit of air.

Putting full choke on is only lifting the plunger, which does sod all.

Twisting the throttle, because the carbs are CV type NOT accelerator pump slide types, twisting the throttle doesn't move any fuel at all or even move ANY jets! All the throttle controls on the SV carb is airflow.

The only way to prime the carbs with fuel is to take the vac pipe off the rear throttle body and suck on it to open the vacuum fuel tap that way to fill the float bowls.

I still think this is an ignition problem as that's the only thing that's been played with.

I havent looked at it yet because i havent been home, but i will check the plugs are in properly..... as hopefully thats the only problem... when i talk about the spy hole im talking about the level hole on the oil tank! i though that was normally clear not half black and half clear!!

Half black half clear? If it's half full of black oil when you get it upright then it's fine.

Describe in more detail please

I reckon the plugs are in fine, but you haven't put the HT lead back onto the top of it properly.

NEW plugs should be done up to the instructions on the back of the box, finger tight plus whatever it says. DO NOT overtighten spark plugs or it will be a world of pain!

Good idea, you should be checking them at least once a week anyway.

Let us know if the steering is OK once you have done the tyre pressures.
