Tim, sounds like you found out just how quickly a GSXR will steer when you want it to. Glad you're OK.

It's what's called a reality check. Keeps you from getting complacent. (Not saying you are by the way).

That's how I look at all of those sort of incidents. The other week I lost the front end going round a sharp bend. God only knows how the hell I didn't crash. The front stepped away, threw me across the other side of the road and then regained traction. I now treat that corner with a tad more respect than I did before. A reality check.

Good skills too. I am sure most would have panicked and hit something.

What scares me most, was I actually thought I was going to get taken out and had resigned myself to it. I cannot say I consciously tried to avoid it.

I had slowed right down as I had seen the car to my left creeping forward in order to see out the junction. (Stone 6ft walls either side). and was prepared for him to start to emerge, I had thought there was a possibility of an oncoming vehicle. But it was the sheer arrogance as to come at me in my lane and expect me to do something about his driving.

I am still fuming. It has given me Apes reality check. that no matter how correctly you ride. You still cannot account for Mr Richard Head when he is behind the wheel.

Blimey, sounds a tight squeeze - I reckon I'd have seen red and chased him down, mirror off, boot down the doors, etc. At least I think that I would, I haven't quite been in that situation other than when that driver drove off after hitting me the other week. In that incident I just got so angry and rode like a bit of a loony in the direction he went (which might be how some ride anyway ) and was determined to do something to him if I found him (which I never did, btw). I think your reaction was altogether better, though

I once worked with a guy who was called that as his real name!

Good avoidance Tim, you were obviously sub-consciously prepared for the avoiding action required.

Phew, well done for keeping your head and not panicking! And you're right, it just oges to show one can never be too careful when there are others about

I like YC's motto for this sort of thing, "Treat everyone as if they were complete idiots"
