Cheers- haven't got any pipe to do it with, though.

What guage pipe and how long? I may be able to get some.

Oh well- a day working on the bike isn't really the proper event without lots of swearing and probably some broken skin too.

Anything will do, if you get pushed pinch the breather off your battery*, make sure you seal the end with a bolt, it'll save a lot of bother next time you do the job.

* replace as soon as possible, but easier to access than the front take off.

Cheers Mark.

Actually you only need two for any bike but it's far easier with as many as you have cylinders.

For example on my VFR I'd match the rear bank to each other, then I'd match the front bank to each other, then I'd match front to back banks.

Post Re: What Carb Balancer

Make one yourself. If you are just balancing the SV all you need is a few feet of 5mm clear poly pipe and some light oil like 3 in 1.

Just make a U shape out of the pipe and mount it on a thin piece of wood with small cable ties.

From personal experience, no matter what balance tool you use, remove the throttle link rods and clean up the joints and give them a light lube before refitting them, then carry out the balance. Also do the balance with the airbox in place.

Kind regards
Tim.
