Yep, Akrapovic, I got one and can vouch that it's built well and offers a nice compromise between tone and outright dB. Mine sounds like the Airwaves Ducati on full chat on a drive by (albeit a little quieter!).

Yeap, Akrapovics are good and they come road legal too.

Thanks! I will call insurers tomorrow to see how it's going, and suggest it then if it's not too late, which I suspect it is not, what with insurance companies being so efficient.
Now, somebody said stay away from carbon as it cracks, so I suppose I shall stick to... whatever the normal shiney silver is! |

My stock end can was scratched and slightly dented following an off on my pointy 650 and was quoted over £700 for a replacement full Suzuki system to put it back to 'as it was before the accident condition'. I think a full Akrapovic is only £590ish brand new. Anyway, mine was then changed to Cat D when the insurance company found out the cost of the stock system as it bumped the repair cost up a fair bit and made it uneconomical.

Ok, just spoke to insurance chap and suggested the exhaust thing, he said he'll mention it to the engineer and see what he says. He couldn't find the 'file' (physical, not computery) so he thinks it's being updated at the moment and will call.
I then called my Suzuki garage and had a good chat, suggested the exhaust thing and he looked at the Akrapovic importers but apparently they only do full systems(?) I didn't think this was the case. But anyway that way was obviously more, and he said about 700, so not so good. However he said a (is it slip-on?) Remus can would be about the 300 mark. Good? |

Yeah AFAIK the akra only comes as a full system and they do cost about £600. But they sound bloody good

Pooh sticks.
I doubt it's enough saving to convince them it's worthwhile. Anybody got recommendations of cans? The guy suggested Remus, they look ok... |

You could offer to put some cash towards it - could get an Akra full system for a couple of hundred quid
