Has been happening when going round corners at any speed. Just feels more squirmy than I've been used to.

I just went out for another spin and I didn't notice it as much. I think it may be that I've been so paranoid about low siding that I've been leaning less and trying to 'steer' too much.

it maybe just the budget suspension, that your not used to

when i first rode the sv the back end was bucking and diving at high and low speed, and would "crouch" under acceleration

so...

swapped the rear shock for gsxr one and it cured it

This is the only bike I've ridden bar the 125 I learnt/did my test on!

I think it may just be me being a tit and trying to steer rather than lean!

Err, leaning is a by-product of steering, not the other way around....

I mean I've been actually turning the handlbars to the left and right too much to try and keep the bike upright.

Maybe you are being too tense on the front bars and not letting the bike do it`s thing , that would be my suggestion , relax and take it easy as you have been doing . Also consider the fact that a colder period will have the oil in the shock at a lower temperature too . I reckon a bit of paranoia and slight stress is amplifying your worries .

Could be actively trying to steer left to turn left which just isn't going to work.

Try reading up on countersteering and see how it goes.

Just reading up on it now! My instructor mentioned something about countersteering but I never really researched it!

Cheers
