Do the Datatool's not have there own battery built in like the Meta's? If so you can leave it for a while on that whilst you charge up the bikes battery.

I would recommend you get an Optimate (or similar), they also come with a lead so will not need to remove the front seat anymore.

i was only speaking about my experiences and the issues i had regarding data tool systems and merely passing on information that allowed me to get back on the road.

the data tool dave is manufactured by optimate with a few subtle differences but dont ask me what mate. the charger will decide wether the battery needs charging, maintaining or, believe it ior not, cleaning again dont ask me how dave.

I know, all made by Accumate (who sell theres named Optimate) and all the difference is just stickers. All they do is test the battery condition, they then identify the condition of the battery and charge it to a given level, re-test, and define the battery's condition.

No comms made with an alarm.

no theres not, but there are comments made with my data tool alarm literature and that sorted my problem.

Its the low current that the trickle chargers produce at the beginning that make them better for alarms, rather than the full whack from a basic charger as far as I am aware.
