Not to sure, but Off road and Supermotos have a high mudguard which would be of little safety use if an object (person) was to touch and get dragged in the wheel.

am i thinking it can all be painted in about 2 days?

cant get bus as work starts at etheir 0530 or 1730 12hr shifts and i work at an airfeild in the back end of nowhere,
how long does the painting take when they put it in an( for lack of a better discription) oven as these lads do

I've ridden once without my fairings on..it was the oddest thing ever. It was just wrong.

How much does it cost for a full respray these days? Out of interest,
I've got one side fairing to repair and spray, but judgin by the mess bungees have made of the tail plastics with my exhaust being so high, i may do the lot

is it safe to put plastic farings in a paint oven. i know they do it to make the paint cure quickly, but won't it melt the plastic pannels?

Oh no, wait. No it doesn't. But yeah, other than the tank all the panels are purely optional. The mudguard is really close to essential though in winter, without it water can go straight up past the yokes into your face.Though you might want to get into the exposed wiring with silicon spray beforehand, the fairings aren't waterproof but they do keep the worst of the weather off. When I was doing my paint I had mostly spare plastics lying around anyway, but I got a cheap tank that looked like it'd been chewed by a dinosaur for a tenner and stuck it on so I could work on that in my own time.

Almost no painters ever finish a job on time, btw, don't know why- I think it's part of the Secret Painter's Code. It's always better not to rush them anyway.
