The annoying thing about the vid is that it doesn't mention whether the guy had any sort of back protection on. If the jacket he was wearing was the same as the one he was wearing during the event, I'd doubt he was - it probably came with one of those daft foam pads instead.

If it's fully waterproof then I'll be tempted...just wait for the price to come down a bit or for them to becom mainstream. What the hell's the gas canister made of? Surely not metal, 60cc is relatively large isn't it?

When I had my off I stayed on the bike, so there would be no benefit as the jacket wouldn't react.
I don't like the compulsory thing, but agree this could be good in some/most accidends. |

Yours was a rare accident then. Did you get trapped under it or something?

Hmmm apparently there are no plans to force people to wear them but "any steps towards better protection are welcomed".
If they did make it compulsory I bet there'd be a significant decrease in the number of the bikers on the road, perhaps that would be their plan ![]() |

![]() Landed in a ditch and yes I was "trapped" under the bike, luckily there was a hedge or something similar there, so my landing was a bit softer and I could get out. |

Upside of making them compulsory is that they would be 15% cheaper as VAT is not charged on Safety Equipment (which they would then have to be classified as)
Still dont want to have to wear one tho.
