Bikes also popping on throttle off/engine braking and running a tad inconsistantly but it's probably those pesky restrictors

That could be down to you having a naff rear shock then. 15 with my Hagons is fine, but i got a brand new hagon rear as well.

Popping etc, have you balanced the carbs, and are the choke cables working nice? not seized or owt? mind you its running on gasket gum and rad weld iinit only kidding

could also be a little hole in an air pipe, or even the exhaust. They do have one drilled hole thats supposed to be in them somewhere in the main pipe, but you could have a gap, in a seal where the can is or something

You considered overtaking while passing a junction?

Rear shock's probably knacked then!

No haven't blanced the carbs, the choke cable is fine and the exhaust is blowing lol. I thought fuel in the zorst system caused popping not air/holes though.

can hazard a pretty good guess, that after all the fiddlin you been up to that you really do need the carbs balancing. Wheres the zorst blowing from?
Just replaced the shock on the SV I'm coming on at the weekend, its only a stock shock, but has only got 1500 miles on it, and I can definately say its a vast improvement on the pogostick that was on before! Although I know I need heavier than 10w with the Ohlins springs thats in the front, that we put in a couple of months back, but it can wait.

yes if theres a hole in the air pipe off the carbs you can get popping. I had one not so long back, everytime you rolled off throttle, it went pound a pound bang a bang bang pop. It was funny for all of five minutes, then got extremely irritating. It pops gently now, but thats down to chokes and needing a balance....which can also wait!

First one I was following a metro down an unlit 50mph twisty (actually coincidentally the stretch I smashed my bike on), lots of blinds and it was solid whitelined so wasn't confident enough to pass even though he was doing a constant 30mph. Got to the long, lit, straight 40mph clear stretch at the bottom and moved out to the outside to do him when I thought "wait this guy is so poor do I trust overtaking him"...low and behold, no slowing or anything he swung a right exactly where the temptation to overtake him would have been.
You wern't thinking of overtaking past a junction on the right were you?

What do you need to balance the carbs? I think you may be right. I'll try get YC's second opinion on the PM. For now it's just gentle popping thank god.
Where do you think it's blowing from? The dodgy welds!

I'm guessing it still has the original shock on, I'll keep an eye out on the bay for one up to scratch!
