I just got a quote for an 09 r1 and it was $4000/year for full coverage (liability, theft, fire, collision) - the quote was for a 23year old rider with a clean driving record.

With just liability (minimum coverage for legal road use and in the event of a crash with an uninsured motorist or collision that was your fault you will get nothing for the bike) that was reasonable at $409 a year. some states require no insurance, i live next to one...it's pretty insane.

I'm 26 with an almost clean driving record and my bike is about $144/year for liability or $276 for full coverage.
