First try loosening and re-torqueing all the bolts first. It doesn't take much to warp that plastic cover, and the bolts shouldn't be very tight: 10 Nm is all they should be!

I had this on my first SV ended up with a knackered crank shaft due to lack of oil
I bought a new cover for about £45 and the O ring wsa about £8. If you want to splash some cash you can get billet covers for about £250
