Not sure I believe HG's word as I assume they were trying to sell you the schuberth that they coincidently stocked?

I have a bmw sport integral lid (on my second), bloody brilliant. I'd guess bmw/schuberth's flip up's would be just as good-a-quality. I have a caberg one that seems well made too.

Well despite having hit the side of a van then the road, Vixis's C3 came back from Schuberth yesterday, with a "All good, just cosmetic" note - they even polished it or something and made the scratches near invisible.

All for just the cost of postage (well courierage so not THAT cheap, but cheaper than a new lid)

Result - I should send mine off. Although it did hit a car circa 40 mph, can't see it passing.

not that Im an expert but I love my Schuberth C3, worth every penny AND their free check after the off confirmed that it was still A-ok to use! Yay. I really recommend saving and getting one. The one (minor) niggle I have is my earplugs dont fit (music not noise reduction she adds) as the helmet is still reallllly tight. Still, that should settle down.

I have had the Schubert S2 for 4 months now having tryed 2 other makes. Although somewhat a little heavier than some, sheer joy so quiet and a very adaptable fit. The neck seal can be repositioned or removed for additional ventilation or more "noise". As a spectacle wearer misting up is a problem but not yet with the C2 so far.
I managed to get mine of fleabay very cheaply and would suggest having a good look round as it is now last years model replaced by the slightly better C3.

Just to add to the Schuberth info, I've had an S1 for a couple of years now. At first I wasn't sure build the quality was quite up to Arai standard, but I have to say that it still looks and feels virtually as new, so absolutely no complaints there.

I'll definitely be looking at the C3 at replacement time. They have finally changed the head shape model for a more normal Euro head, Schuberths have been well known for being slightly odd in shape and sizing. My only real criticisms of the S1 are the joke "anti-mist" coating on the visor, which peeled off mine so I tend to get patchy fogging, and the OK but marginal ventilation, both of which are addressed with the C3 (pinlock + venting). I don't have a real problem with the huge shell size of the S1, but the smaller shell C3 would be preferable I suspect, my old Arai looks tiny compared to the S1.

Having lived with an internal sunvisor, I wouldn't go back to a helmet without it.

For those that want one George White in Slough has some of the now discontinued C2 flip up jobies in their "factory outlet" area upstairs. Also in there are Shark Evoline (although this is actually a current model?) and downstairs in the retail section they have the Cabergs. None of the flip front models I've tried fit me though so I'm going in there later today to get a (now also discontinued) Schuberth R1 - regular lid with an internal sun visor. The C2's are about 260 notes IIRC and the R1 is 200.

Oh, and the amount of clothing in the outlet section has to be seen to be believed!!!!

I've got a caberg trip and I've got no problems with it. Comfortable and breathable but build quality is not too shabby for a £85 flip up.

I popped in there today to look at gloves and came out with a Schuberth R1. They seem to come up on the large size, as my Shoei is a Medium, but the best fitting R1 was a Small.

Now I just have to cancel the Shoei visor and pinlock that I order from Racevisors yesterday
