Dont know if its any help but on our home insurance claim I got a new set of golf clubs. They told me to tell them the brand name and the rough age of the clubs along with some example photos.
Told them Donnay less than 6months and sent them the pages from the Argos, They posted me a cheque for £500pounds to be used at a certain golf store. Similar with the Garden equipment, I sent them B&Q web page they sent me a normal cheque.

I wouldnt lie, but bending the truth in your favour is only human

Wow he really was ok about it! A rareity these days.

Anyhoo that offer sounds like a ****take, it's taken me almost 2 years to get an offer for an accidentway back. I reckon they're offering you the money now so you pretty much sign your claim away to them. As soon as you accept an offer for personal injury they can't reopen the case and give you more if there are complications. However if minor whiplash was the only injury systained it may not really be a bad offer but if it was me I'd do it properly to get the most from them (if you can afford the time).

matt- nothing like a bit of insurance fraud aye? You have to be careful with 'bending the truth in your favour' if you are found to be 'lieing' or being fraudulent than you can lose your right to any compo, at all.
Regarding the gear the guy that came out to look at my bike also looked at my gear and wrote down what it was. I sent them receipts for mine and they offered me some money which I rejected pointing out that my gear wa sin near perfect condition and they reconsidered and offered me a lot more.
Also if anyones coming to look it has to comply with what you've declared on your policy or they'll be arsey... just worth bearing in mind.

it wasnt fruad, i never lied. I expected £100 or so for the clubs and similar for the garden equipment. Only immoral thing I did was not send them the cheque back to let them know it was far more than I paid for the gear when I bought it. But who honestly would?
Is yours resolved yet numbers?

Nice!! I've been wondering what to do with my old lids!

I felt ok after an off ages ago and declined personal injury, that was the start of many years of back pain that I'm only just starting to get over (didn't realise it at the time as it only comes when standing up for extended periods)

Sorry I thought you meant you told them they were brand new and a different brand from what they were. But you're right you do have to make sure you're looked after.

It's now actually looking like it'll be resolved in the next few months

Sorry to hear about ya accident.

Becareful with any neck injury - as has already been said on here. I was victim of an assault in my teens and my head got jarred. Felt a little funny turning my head one way but was in no paint, this went after a while so I forgot about it. I was fine for years but one day 4 years ago I woke up unable to move my neck. Found my muscles in my neck and shoulder had gone into spasm and medication was not helping.

Ended up having to go to works physio - 3 painful sessions later he found I had weak neck due possibly caused by an injury similar to what happened in my assault. I did exercises to build my neck muscles up but wish I had sorted ir sooner.

Neck / back injuries hide themselves. Your discs cushion alot but damage can be done and show up later on down the line.

anyway he's admitted full liability so everything is going through his insurance, spoke to them yesterday and they've offered me £1250 for the whiplash as a 'take it now with no medical evidence - we'll just take your word for it' or i can go see an independant gp or take a 6 week course of phsyio both of which i cant see much point in coz i feel almost tip top now.
should i just accept the money - no questions asked?
