Set the suspension up first, recruit a mate to help you check rear sag, use a cable tie on the forks to check front sag.

I've put cable ties on the front, I'll thin of something for the rear. What sort of sag should I be looking for?

Less on the back though. About 15/20 mm static sag IIRC. You want to make sure the bike has at least a small amount of front end bias or "pointyness"

I meant 35 total at the back. So probably 15 static and 20 rider.

i know this is going to sound like sacrolidge for the falco, but have you thought about a comfort bar kit for it?

or have you tried a pointy with said kit or just higher bars? i really cant ride a pointy without the bars being higher as it tires me out really quick and i find its much better sitting more upright.

Yes I have, but they cost a lot...
What I did was the cheap varsion and I've put the clip ons over the top yoke. It did help, but hasn't solved the problem.

I'll have a fiddle with the suspension, check what rate spring the Ohlins has on.

What sort of sag/trave should I be looking for at the forks?

You've said it yourself, D-whizz! Do 5oo miles next week & 600 the week after, you'll soon be reet.

But one of the things that worries me as well is: is it still possible to find a (faired) curvy in good nick with relatively low miles (say ~20k). After all, in best case scenario it'll be a 7 year old bike...

There's a brace of curveys in MCN this week:
2002, 18500 miles £2100
2001, 514 miles! £ 2995!
Both in yellow - the best/fastest colour. Like this ->

Apologies to pointy owners, they just don't do it for me.
Nor me!
