I hit the curb, bike kinda landed on some of me but managed to avoid the armco which was about a foot or so further back into the small grass verge.
I was with DMC, been riding all morning in soaking wet roads with no probs, road was dry, stretch was a 's' bend with a left hander first which i went round a bit quicker than i would normally do but no probs but decided to shave some speed off for the upcoming bend, next im half on the kerb with bike on top of me.
It happened so quick, i remember running wide a bit, but i think i hit some wet earth on the road, braked but not excessive, front went, i think i must have tried to stand bike up cos it went down on left hand side.
Dmc was in front so hadnt seen me be a numpty.
Fair play to cage drivers, every single one who come past stopped to see if i was ok.
Fellow biker stopped with his pillion and got off to see if i was ok.
Damage so far,
Bar end bent,
Upper fairing severly cracked and gouged,
R/h indy,
Dented tank where bars hit it,
Usual gear shifter,
Clutch lever,
Slight scratches on rad and (gear box?) cover,
Scuffed pillion peg.
The worrying thing is my yoke is not straight when riding in a straight line and my bars are slightly bent, im hoping if i relase clamps on yoke it might straighten up.
Had to ride last 70 miles using gear shifter with no bar on it, got quite good at in the end lol.
Anyway, will update on repairs as and when.
Thanks to DMC btw for helping me come to my senses and get my head straight, even going out of his way on way home for me, thanks Dave.

Oh, b******. Sorry to hear that, at least you are OK.

The forks will most likely have twisted in the yokes. You can just loosen the yokes and twist the wheel back straight while someone holds the bars for you. I did it alone so I tie wrapped the bars to the mirrors in the centre position, tie wrapped a laser level to the front wheel rims, and ran a string under tension from the back wheel to the front garage door, directly under the centre of the front wheel. When the distance between laser dot and string was the same 1ft in front of the bike and 10ft in front of the bike, the wheel was straight. Don't loosen the clip-ons, they will hold the weight of the bike whilst your yokes are loose.

A new nose cowl is £171 +VAT from a Suzuki Dealer. I can now get them off and on in 20 minutes flat so let me know if you need help. You need to get the existing one off and see if the front cowl brace (metal frame underneath) is bent.

Indy's are about 20 quid.

Bar end is just the bolt inside that is bent, take it out and straighten it in a vice.

My gear lever is just filed flat, and drilled and tapped with a bolt thru it at the moment, it works fine.

Those things would get your bike back on the road.

My bars hit the tank too and I have dents, it's because you have bent your bar ends back, that they are then able to hit the tank, nothing wrong with your yoke stops.

Post up some pic's.

So next weeks ride-out on a Lambretta, or are you going to try and get it roadworthy, or won't you make it?

Ill post some pics tomorrow, ive sent you a reply to your pm, you have confirmed what i thought about the forks, thats a relief .
I dont have clip ons, i done a bar conversion, i think the bars might be slightly bent but gonna check everything tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for your messages, it means a lot .

As Pete says, we all make mistakes, put this one down to experience.

Ahhh man. Glad you are ok. You didn't need to take the rideout so seriously that you had to go and test the tarmac. Good luck with fixing the bike.

Glad to see you're OK - yoke's a basic problem to fix just loosen the clamps and use a wall or something as leverage to straighten it all back up.

Glad you're okay mate! Hope your not too hurt.

I found 20 miles with no gear lever a pain let alone 70 miles!
