I`m one of the silly people who did click on the link for the anti spyware and it caused numerous problems resulting in me having to have the harddrive wiped

Ouch, feel for you claire. Its very convincing stuff tho so i understand how people get taken in by it.

petes been quiet all afternoon, hope he's got it sorted and not looking at the blue screen of death.

Its worth having them all, they are imho the best 3 free ones to have and keep updated to keep your system safe.

i heard about this on the radio yesterday, people ended up with credit card details being stolen, the lucky ones jus lost the £30 or watever they were charging, cheeky gits

has anyone used avira i'm using their av and it seem's good along with avg running the both simultaneously to catch the bugger's.

is avira a version of Antivir? i us Avast at the mo.

Running 2 of the same thing is not the best idea as they can kinda work against each other and miss stuff that way. 1 will see it in the others quarantine list and try to delete it, the other will stop anything trying to use it and delete things without your input and they just mess each other up. Thats all from my personal experience btw.
