I have both sv and gsxr (07 750), also had all other gsxr's.
04/05 gsxr 750 is my favor gsxr, along with 05/06 gsxr1k.

Don't be silly, the 675 is the one for lazy riders.

I'd have the 750. They are a little tiny weeny bit differant, since they are a 750, so you get that "unique bike" kudo (just the one kudo)

On one hand "There is no replacement for displacement"
But then, "Big bikes are for people that can't make little bikes go fast"

Tricky isn't it?

Anyone that claims that the 600 isn't fast enough is probably lying, so maybe ride both and see which you feel like. I'm sure you'll love either one, just try to buy one that's been looked after.

To be fair I've ridden both and there isnt a huge amount of difference in them.

The 750 pulls from lower down the RPM range, but both are equally amounts of fun. I didnt notice any difference in handling but then I didnt spend a huge amount of time on the 600...

If you are buying 2nd hand, it depends what you can find a better example of that suits your budget.

The 750 for me scores well on a longer ride / weekend away. As for me its less tiring to ride as I can leave it in the higher gears and use its additional torque to pull the gear rather than dancing around on the gear lever like I would have to on the 600.

IIRC the 750 is geared taller than the 6, so if you gear the 750 down a little you'll get that revvy buzz from the 750 that the 6 gives. Only it'll be more so IMHO.

Personally never ridden either but my 2p worth would be, if you tend to always think the grass is greener then, go for the 750 cos you'll only end up sat at some lights as one pulls up along side you and you'll deflate wishing you'd got the bigger one. Having said that, if you are not a weekend rider and instead are more of a commuter then I'd stick with the 600, you'll soon know about that little weight difference when your trying to flick it between car wingmirrors.

I agree with you on the first part - if you're a 'grass is always greener' person, or in your heart you really like the idea of a 750/litre bike, get the 750.

But IMO the better weekend scratching tool is the 600, as it rewards you working at it, makes a lovely revvy noise and handles beautufully. Me, I like working the bike all of the time, commuting, weekends, touring, etc. so actually the 600 is my ideal bike at all times. But I realise many people, as Fizzwheel has said, prefer the larger more flexible engine of the 750 for touring and more day to day usage.

Not sure about the drag off the lights either, a 600 is hardly left for dead, and in many situations will be as quick/quicker as it's easier to crack open the throttle without fear of spinning up the back wheel.

As Jambo rather nicely put it, anyone who says a 600 is too slow is probably lying - but your choice beyond that comes down to personal preference and riding style.

Whereas I dont. I like if I want to to ride in a more relaxed way which is why I like the extra mirange / torque of the 750 over the 600.

I think alot of it depends as you say on riding style / how you like to ride.

I went into the dealers looking at 600's, then I saw the a 750. It was the previous years model, but had never been registered. I looked at the price of it compared to the current years 600 and thought...

"Hang on here, if I go for a slightly older model I can get a 750 for the same price as a 600" which in my head at the time I decided was a no brainer and put a deposit down on the 750 there and then...

Theres nothing wrong with either bike, its really just down to personal choice...

From the SV I went for the 750 as it's more agile than the equivalent thou, but has more stomp than the 600. It also means I can have another performance upgrade in the future and litre bikes to aspire to.

Personally on fast tracks (Nurburgring and Spa) there are a fair few sections where I want more power than the 750 can offer and the throttle is wide open on the stop, so for me I'm glad I didn't get the 600. I'm sure a better rider on a 600 would be quicker than me on a 600/750 or thou, but I'm happy with that, almost. But if you're riding mainly on the road this extra power mey be less appealing, or even detract from the bike if you enjoy feeling that you're having to really get the bike by the scruff of its neck to get the best from it.

As for the weight/flickability differnce between the 600/750 I bet it's pretty marginal.

So try both and get the one you want.
