It so did, well in gold anyway.

Although I believe the actual calipers are different.

Fork bottoms are very different, mudguards are not swappable.

Interestingly I think 'busa uses 25mm cartridge. Not sure as to pros, cons or why though.
What does the 600/750/1000 use then?

Broken single forks sell quite cheap, once I get it working I'll see about any upgrades. Main reasons for swapping though are weight and brakes. While I could just get SRAD calipers I want radial[1]. Plus when I did it (back in 2001) there wasn't the special bearing available, I can lose the weight of the steel stem and the K6-8 GSXR6/75 wheel is *far* lighter let alone the weight of the 4 rather than 6 pots and the forks themselves are lighter.

What do you consider the 'best' forks?

[1] For no better reason than just because I want them.

No them ones on 1000 are like 67mm mounting centers or something, 'busa and all old style like that including nissins off 1100WN/WP and all old stuff are 90mm mounting centers.
You can see shape of caliper.... new one like on GSXR1000 is more square, old one is like triangle with lower mount closer to fork leg than upper one.

All the other forks use a 20mm cartridge as far as I know. The SRAD 750 ones for sure ('cos there's a set in bits in the garage)

Me I'm not qualified enough to suggest that any fork is best. I would go for K4ish if you want radial, as they've got the hi-flow pistons in them. As far as I know if you wanted to make high flow pistons flow similar to the orifice type in the later ones then you could do this with a 2-stage stack like in a MX bike fork.

*P.S when I said style of caliper, I meant from a practical viewpoint of a particular style can be swapped around with others from same style. I.E those from thou will also fit on 600/750K1-K3, SV1000 etc.
