Yeah, thanks for reminding me how the insurance works.
Completely unrelated to your above post
He was telling of a SMIDSY case. The car driver was trying to claim the biker was at fault for speeding. He won the case because if the driver didn't see the bike how could she judge his speed?
He won £1.5M plus £0.5M legal costs

on behalf of the solicitor, big risks, big payouts

edit: Actually I think it was the helmet case that he won those figures - see flaky witnesses changing their story

To advise people to never take out legal cover is wrong tbh, what if you need the help as you were at fault? One thing about no win no fee solicitors is they know they will win thats why they pick and choose the case they do, so they wont defend a guilty party.
As for the roundabout case he is wrong there too as the bike clearly claimed he rode into him so he cant say for sure something like that as each case would be taken on its own merits. Most courts would apply a percentage liability in this case.

If you are guilty why would you need legal cover? just let them claim on your insurance, that's what it's there for. Do you mean to defend your NCB? Good luck getting a legal exps solicitor to work for you, and to do a good job.
Just my advice, take it or leave itt.

Roundabout - Well if I was the person concerned I'd certainly want a solicitor that believed I was in the right - so whoever it was I would recommend they get in touch. I am not recommending that anyone leave a roundabout from the right lane just because a solicitor thinks you're entitled to.

I'm going to stir a hornet's nest.

Several clients ask me to do NWNF. I always refuse, no matter what sort of work it is. I have done a few in the past, and I found that the clients concerned were some of the highest maintenance I had - forever calling me, expecting me to drop everything just for them, and basically being a right PIA. The rules are that you can't treat people differently just because they're on a contingency fee basis, but the reality is that such clients treat their solicitors differently because it doesn't cost them anything to be forever on the phone and because they have no costs risk. I had to tell these clients to back off. It's simply another aspect to wanting something for nothing.

Ive contacted them twice in just over a year, not too much to ask for as I'm actually paying for their work
