the condensation from lots of cold starts and short journeys can look quite bad, check your coolant bottle and see if its clean, if it is go on a long ride to get the engine nice and hot.

id say on a normally robust engine its pretty rare for a head gasket to go on such a new bike.

Have a look on the left hand side of the bike, ( gear change side ) look down between the frame underneath the riders seat and its tucked away in there.

I'd say your issue is more than likely being caused by the short journeys, but like I said, its a new bike, dont delay take it back to the dealer.

As others have said, it sounds like a bit of condensation, Brothers 900ss used to do it all the time, a bit worrying when you first see the mayonnaise though.

How old is the bike though? If like me you've done 600 miles in your first week, then it's not condensation.

If it's been standing in a cold garage for 10 weeks, in between 60 mile weekend bimbles, then it probably is. How far is your dealer?

If I had concerns over blown gasket, I wouldn't be riding it to the dealer, but I'm not an expert, it's just a precaution I would prefer to take for piece of mind.

Don't forget you have free breakdown cover with the bike, they will come and look at it for you and if it's not OK, they'll take it into the dealer on a truck.

You looking at glass, most like it is condensation. You can always unscrew oil filter little bit, just enough to get cap full of oil, and see what it looks like. If you have yogurt like stuff in there you have problem.

If so it may just be condensation build up on the sight glass, my SV used to do that with alot of short journey work and my GSXR does the same.

Otherwise echo what the others have said take it back and get it looked at.
Ditto.

Mine has been doing it for a few weeks. Once its had a decent run the condensation on top of the oil burns off.

Doesn't happen so much in summer

If you're worried about it, see if you can pop over to YC's (Halifax) and let him have a look for your peace of mind.
