The graphs don't correlate with one another at all, it's not just the BMW. According to that, the R1 and CBR both continue to make close to peak power at 12k rpm even though the torque has dropped to nought by then.
It's like the two charts were made from two lots of very different dyno runs, or two seperate people guessed them. (Or one incredibly dumb person). |

Actually I have noticed something else... A few of the bikes that in the power graph rev to 13000+rpm, yet on the Torque one they rev to under 12000rpm. ha ha. sigh.
No doubt we'll get the weekend warriors all going round on the BMW saying "mines got way more power", then pulling this report out... ![]() |

Indeed, the graphs looks pretty screwed. I read the 2009 summery part of this weeks paper and it seems that there was someone who dyno'd a BMW and got this power output from it then MCN said he said it had 200bhp at the crank... like they can test that. Sigh. For all we know my old SV might have had 300bhp at the crank and lost 230bhp of it to the wheel ![]() So yea, one big ball dropped ![]() |
