One more thing LPH. Don't forget to remind the doctors that they are working to a deadline. You've got to be fit to ride in time for the AR....

I tend to think of this type of situations as they might somehow be of benefit for you in a longer run; i.e. because of my last accident I am now going to the gym three times a week which will definitely benefit me in the future, my financial situation has actually gotten better (medical insurance) and I survived 2 months of a really quiet period at work where otherwise I could have been made redundant... Maybe if you had continued riding something much worse would have happened 3 miles further up the road....... Ah, insurance, yes well that is the problem. I booked it through Carole Nash/Axa. I rang the emergency line and after 5 calls where they promised to ring me back they eventually said that they no longer have the Carole Nash contract and couldn't help. After much searching the receptionist as Carole Nash got a guy in Australia at Axa to call me, and he asked me to send photos of my x-ray, injury, doc report, passports, aurline tickets etc. I said I needed to come home for surgery and he promised to be in touch once the medical team had looked at everything. That was Wednesday and despite giving them UK and Thai numbers and email they haven't contacted me again even though I have emailed them again. Good thing I'm not stuck in hospital awaiting the OK for surgery!
So since I'm stuck here I shall visit hospital again tomorrow at Chiang Mai which is bigger and get them to either do me a new cast that is more comfortable or strap the arm up. And as for riding, well that's probably not advisable, so we have persuaded the bike hire company to take back the 2 650ccs and swap them for a 1200cc and I'm going on the back, cast and all and heading for the Golden Triangle. A dose of Codeine and I'm away. And never mind getting fit to ride at the AR, I need to ride to Soho a week Friday to prove to Chris that I own a bike at all before he leaves for Berlin.
