I wouldn't pay that much for luggage, sure it's fancy but I'd rather just put my kit in a bin bag in the cheap luggage and spend the savings on beer.
So no truth at all in the tight yorkshireman stereotype?

Some, not all, Oxford stuff has a lifetime guarantee (but that is not a guarantee that it is waterproof, unlike the Kriega)

I've got an R3 bumbag and an R25 rucksack here... they're both proven in my eyes, as the bumbag kept my stuff dry on NW3 (which was horrendously wet), and the rucksack is all-day comfy as long as the contents are flexible.

My kriega tailpack comes undone if it's used with a seat cowl - bit of a pain.
Almost lost a lot of beer on the GM2

Thats odd and has not happened to me as of yet. Have you tried shoving your waterproofs or something in the bottom pocket so that the buckles stand a bit taller if you know what i mean?

Figure you need to add extra waterproofing to your kit anyway, so why spend extra.

Maybe it is worth money for backpacks, they do seem very snug fitting.

Most waterproof kit ever is bergen, you can use them as a boat...

Like Chris I've had my Oxford tailpack for around 3 years and its been used in more monsoon type weather than dry TBH. It went 600 miles in none stop rain with the cover provided, and it never leaked(although new) its been in many trips over 200 miles at a time since and still hasn't leaked.....

... on the flip side Pegasus has Kreiga stuff. Although not sure how long he has had it, it has been used pretty much permanently through last year. Mileage wise, thats a whopping 20 odd thousand miles since buying the ZZR in summer!! He says its well worth the money and TBH it still looks like new.

You get what you pay for, but also if you look after your gear, any brand will last,.

I bought a US20 when we did the group buy and I'm happy to transport my (work) laptop in it. So there's two options, either I'm convinced it's waterproof or I want a new laptop from work.

The Oxford rain covers are made from a sheet of plastic. I can't see how they could possibly leak, even if the item it's covering is falling apart.

I did one of the ARs with Oxford tank bag & panniers, it chucked it down and it was all left outside overnight and everything stayed dry, but with the aforementioned rain covers fitted.

My Kreiga R35 has never leaked, and it's been in some downpours, even though Kreiga don't advertise it as waterproof. So when they say their tail packs are waterproof, I believe them.
