I'm actually going to come across as completely weird here and say I really liked 12. It was more because I enjoyed the game-world and the non-random battles more than anything, but it just felt more like a world than a series of interlinked dungeons.

I spent the longest time playing 8, probably, 7 I played through once but honestly didn't get all the hype. The first disc of 9 makes me go all nostalgic, I really, really loved the setting of it.

I can't think of a FF game I've not liked, to be honest :s

OH MY GAAD, FINAL FANTASY FANS!!!!
*forces everyone together for group hug*

I've actually only played FFX, FFX-2 and FFXII, but extensively enough to call myself a fan. I've completed FFX in it's entirety about 3 times, celestial weapons and all. Spent about 6 months on FFX when I first played it, morning, during meals, after school, through the night. It's literally one of the most epic times of my life. The only game storyline I've ever come across which even comes close to being a dead cell on FFX's body is Bioshock. The music is the best bit, and I have a newish PS2 stored so I can play it all again in a decade or so.

I really like X-2 as well, the girls were bangin', and it was a simple and fun game to play, I just sadly want to play X the more I play X-2.

I found XII alright too, I actually only just started playing it a few weeks ago for the first time. Once I read through the plot online again (I didn't get it from the game) it seemed like a good plot, but the dungeons were sooo repetative, lots of running and demons, futile tasks (put gem here, get new gem, go back, open door, go see migello, go back to door... fight fiends meanwhile), and the scenery didnt differ within the dungeons. But getting a high chain was fun. I think I'm about 50% of the way through the game. I wasn't hooked enough to keep playing once my XBOX had been fixed though.

I know what happens in 7, and I own the Advent Children DVD, I just never played it, copies are getting rare (and expensive) so I'm just hoping to borrow someone's sometime. Looks good, but it's seriously got a HIGH par to meet.

I look forward to XIII, but I will undoubtedly compare it to X to some extent. I will also need a PS3 which I do not have. I expect you all to tell me how it is.

*Does Yu Yevon prayer*

Never managed to get into them... almost bought Final Fantasy Legend (GB version) off a kid in school but decided not to, didn't have a SNES (Genesis instead) and when I got my Playstation I was too busy with Gran Turismo and Syphon Filter to commit 70 hours to a silly RPG with random battles!

Kinda glad I didn't, tbh, FF fans scare me. Whenever there's a character battle on GameFAQs the obscure FF character always wins. And I remember a friend downloaded a copy of Advent Children and showed me a bit of it. The fight was cool, yes, but then they started talking and he was howling with laughter at the dialogue (injokes?) and the fact the guy's ringtone was actually the tune that plays before a battle, or something and I was just O_o
