I use an iPhone, I am posting from it now, the Internet function is simple an easy once you learn how to use your fingers for zooming copying etc.

I think it wins hands down, a lot of people I know are getting blackberrys because te iPhone is now becoming uncool... But no other phonecan even begin to compete IMO

I don't really use my phone for emails, but the iphone is great for games and applications.

Try them both out and see what you think.

Thing is with the iPhone though is you say that you don't need anything fancy, but once you see some of the things it can do you could never go back to a normal phone.

I've got both as my work phone is a blackberry and own is an iPhone. The iPhone is miles ahead, blackberry is clunky and annoying with a tiny keyboard (yes lot smaller than the touchscreen iphone one)

No you dope! I mean all depending on what you want from a phone there are loads out there that arnt a BB or IP. HTC devices for one. BB and IP are expensive to run in the long term. Dont get me wrong, i think the IP is a fantastic package, but still flawed and in the end its an Ipod Touch with a phone built in. Buy an Ipod Touch and a chap phone, job done.

The New nokia N900 is superb by all accounts and runs rings round the IP in functionality etc. Plus there is a new IP due out in 3 months i believe

if there's an apple shop near you, they have all the equipment set up so you can go and have a play without anyone bothering you. This is what pulled me in when I was looking at a new phone.

Likewise, go and have an ask around a few phone shops (vodafone/o2 etc) and see if they've got any working blackberrys for you to have a play with

I have never seen the attraction of a Blackberry unless it is a tool for work. For personal use, who needs push email? For some reason, Blackberry has become even more of a designer label than iPhone to the point that kids want them. They don't know why, they just 'want' them.

Given a choice between the two, it would be the iPhone every time. And this is from someone who wouldn't allow a Mac across the threshold.

I go to uni on thursdays and the 2 lads I spend most my day with both have this same on going arguement between them. One has a blackberry one has an Iphone 3g they bicker about who's can load a web page quickest make posts/send emails etc then they go onto the gaming features and camera etc. Then onto the media stuff like video play back and music.
They've gone on about them since the start of this year, all I can say is when it comes down to it I always borrow Kyle's Iphone when I fancy a play on some games.
The 3gs will be my next phone.

Going to the shop now to get an iPhone.

I think they are just better for what I want, emails are irrelevant to me, I don't need to check my spam on the go and work emails I'll pick up at work, nothing is that urgent that I need to deal with it when out of the office.
