Well Brett, you got your wear out of them

I am bit renowned for letting my rears get like that, but only if it's happened on a trip out. No way would I consider riding on one like that as soon as I got the bike home.
Imagine if you'd have been involved in an accident. That's a get out for the insurance company straight away regardless of fault. Hope you never let one get to that state again and still use it. |

good point well made! Quote:
I didn't post the thread to glorify it, I know it's not smart and is such a risk but I didn't have much option as my bike is my only form of transport and I needed to get to work etc. with any luck someone else may learn from my idiocy heh. It has gone on my fitters wall of shame for now. The ride home on fuly curved rubber was rather nice, corners can be taken at any angle even variable, not just straight, left or right! my cornering must be pretty damn consistent to square the tyre off in 3 planes! |

I saw it had become worn on the edges but thought over winter it would even the middle out a bit, when I left home this morning there was just a single dashed line of canvas showing, it had widened significantly to what you see there by the time I had done the 25 miles to the tyre fitter. I was riding it really carefully and avoiding any right hand lean but still it wore away loads.
Anyone would think I ride roundabouts and get my knee down but nothing of the sort, I only lean a little, have huge chicken strips but both the front and back wore down on the right more than anything else. I do prefer right hand corners though, can't lean to the left with as much confidence. ah well. live and learn. will make sure to get my next lot sooner, might just have to spoil my bike a bit when it comes to tyres, I do rather like nice ones on there. this BT016 seems quite sticky. |
