Jesus, just take a few minutes to search and you'll find ****loads of threads here about the right type of battery for the SV plus reg/recs. There's one thread by Chris(numbers) where Batteryman discusses the various possible Yuasa batteries that'll fit and work in an SV.

I'm using a Yuasa TTZ14S - it's a cheaper version of the premium battery that fits the SV but is almost essentially the same. £50 or so from MDS Batteries with a forums discount.

Quite possibly. But if your reg / rec is gone, then you'll still have problems with the new battery to.

Have a search I'm sure its been covered before, you want the right part / model no. I think its a YT12A-BS for a curvey but I'm not 100% sure...

Be aware that there are alternatives for the curvy battery, but they can also be too tall. The YT12A-BS fits correctly in the battery box and your seat fits. There is another that is the same size, but for the life at the mo, I can't remember off the top of my head.

A batteryman thread will tell you.

Hi mate

Had a similar issue with mine - sounds like whats happened though is the reg/rec went before winter and you didnt notice, the battery has now frosted and now emphasised the problem.

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/lmspares/ - New reg/rec from this person on fleabay - good price fantastic delivery

have been told batteryman on here is very good, but havent replaced mine yet so couldnt say. Shouldnt be much more than £120 all in

Possible the battery is goosed. Worth trying a spare before shelling out. A fully charged battery will freeze at around -70c whereas a severely discharged battery can freeze at -1c.

It's probably worth reading this guide to check the problem thoroughly.

I don't use a top-up jobby, I have two batteries and switch them throughout the winter when the grips have drained them somewhat. They can take a decent length of time to charge, given they're so small. Topically, that's what I'm off out to do shortly.

Halfords wanted £70 and we had no reg rectifier to try as I was in my car not on the cbr.

It's pretty much gonna be the battery or both. None of which is available today at this time

hopefully it's not the wiring.

Where are you? If you're relatively local to me, you can borrow my fully charged spare until you get fixed up. I'd put my money (£0.27 if anyone's game) on it being the battery, not the reg/rec, especially if you've taken it off the bike and charged it off the bike, and it's not holding.

That guide gives you the numbers you're looking for with a multimeter.
