If you can't sort it out sensibly, maybe it's time to organise a .org Easter party. Everyone turns up, parks with their exhaust facing his house, tests their rev limiter then comes inside for tea and hot crossed buns.

Probably worth leaving a video camera watching the bikes for security reasons, and in case he tries anything. Can't beat having the police banging on his door with your video as evidence.

personal video evidence is not good enough for court unless we have a copper there filming it of course.

Interesting. How has he been recording noise levels?

At face value he seems like one of those neighbours that has to find something to complain about. You'd probably drive him nuts (or nuttier) by giving him nothing.

i not sure how it works up there but i think down here you get reported, if its a copper that reports you you get a section 59 issued and if a copper see's it happening again they can take you keys from you and call for a tow, but they can only do this if they see you breaking the asbo not if a member of the public reports you.

i had the family from hell across the road moan about the bike so i simply parked my car outside their really ridiculously where they park even tho my driveway was clear, i still do it just because im a ar$e
I've already had letters left on the car window telling me where not to park in the street. If it was my house I would park right across his drive but it's not fair on my parents having to deal with him in the future.

Darren why dont you go around and talk to him, has he complained about noise before, dont be assy with him, just go and talk and be polite and see if you cant sort it out amicably.
It is the attitude he has when he comes round that annoys me. If he came round and talked to me like a normal person then we could maybe talk about it and explain each others views. But when he comes round barking orders at me and threatening me with police action it really pi55es me off

Yeh he phoned the police about the tzr too. When they came they didn't mention anything about an asbo and said that basically it was our drive and we could do what we wanted and it was none of his business. So I don't understand how they have suddenly changed their story

I don't know exactly. The police just told me today that he was doing it. He is retired and has nothing better to do with his time. He has a long history over the years of complaining about noise (before our house was even built)

He does sound a bit of a knob. Personally I'd still try and go around to see him and have a talk with him.

I'd also get down the CAB or somewhere like that and findout what sort of decibel limit is acceptable to make on your own property and between what times in acceptable to do so. If you can get a printout or something in writing that explains what is deemed as reasonable you can go and then show that to him / the police if they come round again.

Perhaps its something you local county council can help with.

Sounds like he's the sort of person that will look for things to complain about though from what you have said.

Sounds like he needs the feckin ASBO! what a pig!

I would seriously consider going for some legal advice - it's not right that someone can dictate to you what you do in your life when you are doing nothing wrong, nothing illegal - good luck hope you sort it

Agree pain in the **** neighbours are literally a pain in the ****. Far better if you can to keep them on side.

If you cannot persuade them to be reasonable, become unreasonable. Get your mates round for a party etc. you be pleasant and be seen to be. What joe public says/does to them is nothing to do with you.

If that doesn't work. spend 50 quid on your local homicidal manic

Police do occasionally issue empty threats in order to "keep the peace". Educate yourself on what powers they actually have, and what is actually legal or not, and then stick to that.

A baffled bike on tickover shouldn't be intrusive, and if it's suddenly illegal to warm your bike up before servicing it at home, there's gonna be an awful lot of court cases coming up.

Get your own noise meter, find out what the legal limit is, and turn your stereo on all the time to that exact level. Will drive him nuts.

Edit above, forget everything I said. too much beer.

complain to plod he is being threatening, intimidating etc. Play him at his own game.

Start telling them you have rights under UN conventions etc to a family life and privacy and he is denying those rights.
