About 40 minutes with the light on. But that's a guess, as Sid says it's a complex one.

Ignition will probably pack in about 10.5 volts, zadar will know for sure about that one... maybe you could fit a voltmeter to keep your eye on it.

Or just fix the generator or whatever

Quick one, what else could be the problem if it isn't the battery.

I only know of the reg/rec. Is there anything else that could be at fault.

I'm highly suspecting the reg/rec as apparently they tend to go, according to others' threads, around the 30K mark...

They can go whenever.

Energy is transferred engine > rotor > alternator windings > wiring > reg rec > more wiring > battery

Any step can fail. Reg rec is weak point, wiring can be improved but is usually not main fault

My wiring loom is in a bit of a state too. Gonna take all the panels off tommorrow and give it a good looking over.

Another quick one. Would a pointy wiring loom fit into a curvy ok, or were there some changes?

Has your bike/electrics packed up again?

You can stick the battery on my optimate if you've not got one.

You got battery problems too?

It's no fun I know.
When mine went it was just the battery, nothing else.
Have you tried changing the battery and seeing if that works before jumping to the reg/rec way of thinking?

The battery was new for the MESS ride.

Just been down and had a good look. Tried starting the bike and weirdly it started near enough first time. All this despite it only 'clicking' yesterday morning when i came to start it.

Does this strike you as a bit bizarre, anyone? Where has the sudden battery power come from?

Also indicators aren't working at all. The dash doesn't even flash when the indicators are operated. All the fuses are ok and there doesn't appear to be any shorting points or frayed wires.
